Do's And Don'ts during the Babymoon

Traveling is an exciting activity that everyone can enjoy, even someone who is about to mother a child! However, traveling and pregnancy don’t often go well together. Here are some dos and don’ts that may come in handy for any soon-to-be mother and father.

Do's And Don'ts during the Babymoon

What you should do

Pick a good time.

Timing is crucial in any situation, especially when you’re having a little human. We all know that the pregnancy process breaks down into 3 trimesters, and the most comfortable time to travel is during the 2nd trimester when you pass the nauseating feeling and are not too big to move. According to the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the best time for a babymoon is between Week 18 and Week 24.

Pick a good place.

There’s a baby on the way and there are risks accompanying it. So, instead of picking a far-away destination, opt for a nice, comfortable and close (less than 6 hours of traveling) location. Not to mention, medical services should be available where you travel in case of emergency. You don’t want any unexpected and potentially damaging things to occur and not be treated properly.

What you should not do

Break free of your diet.

One of the joys of traveling is eating! Needless to say, alcohol is going to be off the menu. Consider the cuisine where you’ll be staying, steer clear of any kind of food that you are sensitive to or can cause irritation.

Extreme activities.

Anything that requires moving a lot is a big NO at the moment. You may want to try to get information on what kinds of activity are available on the traveling site. If you think you’re going to fall and risk abdominal trauma, then take a back seat and watch others play.

Forget to relax.

It may be worrying to have a child growing inside you. But after all, this is the time for you enjoy yourself before parenthood comes. Just a stroll along the beach with your partner or half an hour of meditating at sunrise can be very relaxing for you and your child. If anything, being too worried or stressed during pregnancy is not good for your and the baby’s health.

Spending time to travel as a pregnant couple is a fascinating idea that all parents-to-be should consider.
