What is Chestal® used for?

Chestal® is commonly used for relieving these medical conditions, such as:

• Cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation
• Couch come along a cold
• Phlegm (mucus) and bronchial secretions

How should I take Chestal®?

Follow all directions on your prescription label.

Carefully measure the dose using a special measuring device/spoon. Do not use a household spoon because you may not get the correct dose.

Do not take this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.

Stop use and ask a doctor if cough lasts for more than 7 days, comes back, or is accompanied by fever, rash or a persistent headache. These could be signs of a serious condition.

How do I store Chestal®?

Chestal® is best stored at room temperature away from direct light and moisture. To prevent drug damage, you should not store Chestal® in the bathroom or the freezer. There may be different brands of Chestal® that may have different storage needs. It is important to always check the product package for instructions on storage, or ask your pharmacist. For safety, you should keep all medicines away from children and pets.

What should I know before using Chestal®?

Before using this drug, tell your doctor if:

• You are pregnant or breastfeeding. This is because, while you are expecting or feeding a baby, you should only take medicines on the recommendation of a doctor.
• You are taking any other medicines. This includes any medicines you are taking which are available to buy without a prescription, such as herbal and complementary medicines.
• You have allergy with any of active or inactive ingredients of Chestal® or other medications.
• You have any other illnesses, disorders, or medical conditions.
• You have cough that occurs with too much phlegm (mucus); or cough that lasts or is chronic such as occurs with smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis or emphysema.

Is it safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Side effects

What side effects can occur from Chestal®?

What is the dose of Chestal® for an adult?

Adults and children 12 years of age and older: Take 10ml every 2 hours.

What is the dose of Chestal® for a child?

Children 2 to 12 years of age: Take 5ml every 2 hours.

Not recommended for children under 2 years of age.

How is Chestal® available?

Chestal® is available in the following dosage forms and strengths:

• Syrup 6.7 Fl Oz

What should I do in case of an emergency or overdose?

In case of an emergency or an overdose, call your local emergency services or go to your nearest emergency room.

What should I do if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose of Chestal®, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your regular dose as scheduled. Do not take a double dose.
